Squares are used to gauge the accuracy of an angle between two surfaces, typically at 90° while some will also measure 45°. Squares can be used for a variety of tasks, but are particularly useful when carrying out building tasks within a range of disciplines such as woodworking, metalworking and construction.

A bevel is designed for setting and transfer of a measured angle to a work piece for cutting or machining, and will let you create a bevel edge with ease or replicate an existing angle, such as on stairs.
