The Dewalt DCG418SHD 54V XR Flexvolt 125mm Side Handle Detect Brushless Angle Grinder from ITS is an evolution of the incredibly popular DCG418 but with massively enhanced safety features.
According to a recent survey by RoSPA, angle grinders are ranked as the third most dangerous tool, accounting for over 5400 accidents per year. The angle grinder is also one of the most desired and versatile tools in anyone’s kit.
One of the key contributing factors to the number of injuries is using an angle grinder with one hand – this is where the DCG418SHD comes into its own.
Most angle grinders will have an auxiliary or support handle to help control it. The same is true here. However, on this model, it also contains a switch. Users are required to press the switch on the support handle BEFORE activating the main switch on the body.
This results in a massive reduction of workplace accidents and enhances productivity while ensure that user safety is kept at a premium.
Along with this incredible safety feature, the high performance angle grinder really does perform to excel. The 2300 W motor drives the grinder up to a no load speed of 9000rpm. The compact gear housing allows access into smaller locations thereby increasing its diversity to various locations.
A removable mesh screen on the main body reduces the amount of dust from getting into the motor while the rubber grip overmould ensures that you maintain a firm yet comfortable grip.
Supplied with both a full steel cutting guard as well as grinding guard, the tool also includes Dewalts E-Clutch, Soft Start and E-Brake system to further enhance your safety
