The Makita DLS714Z is a Brushless, cordless mitre saw that runs off 2 x 18v Li-ion batteries. It joins the ever increasing range of Makita 18v Li-ion tools.
One of the latest tools in Makita's impressive 18v Li-ion range the DLS714Z is a sliding compound mitre saw that takes 2 of maktia's 18v Li-ion batteries. Its compatible with all of Makita's 18v batteries from 1.5Ah to 5.0Ah, but being a mitre saw its a high drain tool so runtime won't be great if you use a low AH of battery such as a 1.5Ah.
Its powerful 36v (2 x 18v) brushless DC motor can match the performance of mains machines, both in terms of capacites and speed of cut.
Due to the brushless motor this model is compact and lightweight and will not need any maintenance. This means they're easy to transport and conveinant due to not requiring a cable or mains power.
To make sure that users get the most out of their batteries Makita have introduced an "Automatic Torque Drive". This allows the tool to automatically change the cutting speed according to the material, this gives the user the best cut at the best operational speed possible which also means that your batteries wont be unnecessarily drained when doing 'easy' jobs.
