Makita DTD148

The DTD148 is a new cordless, impact driver from Makita that features a new highly efficient brushless motor. This heavy duty, impact driver is perfect for professional use on site all day long, and is a update on the predessesor DTD129.

New Hyper-Efficent Motor

The new brushless motor helps this impact driver generate a massive 175 Nm of Torque making this one of the most powerful cordless impact drivers available on the market, and up to 35% faster running/driving over the predessor.

The Makita DTD148 is designed to deal with high performance over a consistant period. The brushless motor enables this impact driver to run at its most efficent, allowing the enegry generated by the batteries to go soley into the task at hand. This makes the tool more powerful and keeps the batteries running longer. On top of which, because there are no brushes in the motor, you don't have any maintenace costs or down-time (to replace brushes) and also no parts inside the tool are touching each other and wearing away and each other so your motor is actually left in far better condition.

Protection against overload

All of Makita's latest Li-ion range boast 'star' protection, which is a built in CPU chip that talks to the battery and ensures that the tool is not being pushed beyond its limits (be that driving with screws too big, or into materials that are too hard) If the chip realises that the tool or the battery are going to fail, it cuts out all power. This will ensure that your tool and battery are protected from overload.

3 Mode Impact Power Selector

One of the great new features of this impact driver is the 3 mode power selector. This allows the user to manually select the tightness of the fastening depending the screw types and the material of your workplace. In addition there is a new 'T-Mode' which allows the user to hand over the control of the motor to an in-built computer chip which automatically adjusts the torque and speed settings on your machine to make your driver optimised for whichever job you're doing.

Battery Fuel Gauge

As with all of Makita's latest range of cordless tools, the DTD148 includes a very handy battery gauge that lets you keep a close eye on your battery capacity so you'll never be caught short with no power.
