The Makita DHP481Z 18v Lithium-ion 2 Speed Brushless Hammer Drill Driver.

The DHP481Z high power 4 pole motor has double the amound of magnetic force than standard motors providing more energy and power generating a maximum no load speed of 2100rpm, impressive max 115Nm torque and up to 31500bpm impact rate.

This brushless hammer drill is 20% more work efficient than the current model BHP48 as well as being 20mm more compact compared to this drill. With 21 position adjustable torque control for uniform results and optimized precision.

2 speed/variable speed including reverse, 13mm single sleeve keyless chuck for easy bit installation/removal by one hand, drilling up to 13mm into steel, 76mm into wood & 16mm into masonry making it ideal for use in a variety of materials & a wide range of applications.

Featuring a twin LED job light with pre-glow for use in low visibility applications together with a variable speed trigger for greater control.

The 3 stage battery fuel gauge shows the power remaining in the battery, simply by pulling the trigger. 3 lights on - more than 50% of full battery capacity. 2 lights on - 20% to 50% of full battery capacity. 1 light on - less than 20% of full battery capacity.

The compact 205mm overall length, the shortest in its class, well balanced, lightweight 2.3kg design makes it easy to handle without compromising on power, whilst the best possible ergonomic, soft rubber grip handle provides maximum user comfort reducing fatigue on prolonged use and providing greater tool control.

The Makita DHP481Z is supplied as a tool only unit and has no batteries, charger or case making it the ideal way to build up an existing Makita 18V kit. Batteries and charger are available separately.

The 3 year warranty applies to tools purchased on or after July 1st 2012.

Tools must be registered online ( within 30 days of purchase to qualify for the warranty extension otherwise a standard
1 year warranty will apply.

Any warranty claims outside of the 1st year but within the second or 3rd must be dealt with directly by Makita.

Excludes batteries, chargers, outdoor power equipment and airtools.

    "The best yet. I had a few of the first Lithium BHP451 3-speed drills and the BHP459 light weight brushless drill from makita and since getting this DHP481 i have given them away. Yes this is heavier than the 459, but the balance is great and the speed and power of this drill makes me grin when i spin a fat Auger bit through a knotty joist. Phwoar yeah. "
