Furthermore this latest range of makita batteries all have an LED battery level indicator on its rear, so you can see exactly how much charge you have left in your battery before using it or attaching it to a tool.

 The BL1860B also features Makita's Star protection, which is a computer chip that communicates with your tools to ensure that the battery/motor will cut off in the event of overheating or overdischarge. This makes sure that both your tools and batteries are protected against misuse.
